My philosophy,
If you are talking to a person of the opposite sex, or even same sex in some cases, and you feel awkward at any point during it...
then they are flirting with you.
Happened to me twice already.
Thanks "thickness".

And today you accidently called me baby...
Stony Brook Lesson #1, going back to your dorm between classes is kind of impossible.
Will not attempt tomorrow.
Or if I do, know the right way to go, and not get lost.

Realization.
Key to being faithful:
Find someone you neve want to stray from.
Benefit: you're happy and they won't get hurt.
Drawback: if they don't want you, it sucks because you still don't want anyone else.

Yummyness!
I really only eat crunchy tacos because I love the challenge.
So in addition to finding a delicious (I'm assuming) zucchini, I made from scratch some yummy guacamole.
Ingredients:
1 large avacado
a couple, fresh from my garden, tomatos!
about 1/3 a cup of chopped onions
a squirt of lime juice
and some salt & pepper
--should have put in some minced garlic, or at least garlic powder but I forgot and it was soooo good!
We used it in tacos.
Where I had beans, guacamole, salsa, & lettuce - pretty simple but filled with lots of flavor!
PS: I love getting Yankees trivia right!
Woah, WOAH, What's that?

"I'm not that inno-cent"-Britney
Apparently I give off the impression that I am a nice wholesome girl.
lol.
Today at work, I had mentioned how even MORE clumsy I am when I drink and I always wake up with tons of bruises.
Convo goes:
Boy I work with: "You drink?"
Me: Yea..?
Boy: REally? I didn't think you did that kind of stuff.
Me: ..really?? lol. I AM 21...
Boy: I just never would have thought it..
lol funny. I guess its a good thing that I dont come off as a drunkard, or anything else. And this isn't the first time that I have been misconceived.. haha
Leaves a bit to the imagination, I suppose.
lol.

Twitter: Alicia Silverstone
I just checked out Alicia Silverstone's blog linked from her twitter.
If you don't already know, she is vegan and an activist with Peta. Despite some radical things that Peta does, the general notion is that they love animals.
She posted a video and a news article about abuse in a dairy farm. I didn't watch the video, except when I went to sign the petition, to shut down the dairy farm (long story short, 2 people were in a video of animal abuse against the cows at the farm. One man was charged with 12 counts of animal cruelty, while the other did not -- and was actually the owner of the dairy farm. He is not in jail and still manager of the farm, which is unfair and cruel.) Anyway, just the still frame of the video was there on the petition site, and it was a cow held between this guys legs with a fist on its head. Not graphic just that.
But I feel like I am going to cry. Its just so cruel and terrible that people do this, to ANY living thing, animals and humans alike.
I met several people who went vegetarian/vegan or attempted, or at least thought about it who tell me they have watched several of the Peta videos - such as beef cows, chickens, and such like that being slaughtered. I have never once watched any of those videos. I didn't have to. I can only imagine and it hurts.
Some nights, its really weird, but I can not even sleep just thinking about all the animals out there that get abused, even outside the food industry.
Humans are really terrible creatures. We think we own everything because we are overpopulated on this earth. It's really stupid. Sadly, I think the human race should really die out and bring peace and balance back to the earth.

A pretty legendary quote.
She must have been a career drunk,
because she looked like a mess.
Ah, conversations in red pick up trucks with corn, tomatos, and squash in the back.

More of my Garden!

One door closes as another opens.
After a night of not sleeping due to stress about the fall semester, and lack of classes, due to them being cancelled because of low enrollment.
I realized if I can't add one more class to make my credits 18, instead of 15, with classes I need for a major... then I will try to work toward a minor in Anthropology.
There is an into to Cultural Anthropology class, that is open, but at the same time as a science class I'm taking, which stinks because it is very much my first choice.
However, they have an archeology class open on tues/thurs mornings, which is sorta early (9:50) (and I have class at 9:35 M,W,F already) but I think I should be able to manage.
So, needless to say, I am excited either way (kinda want the Anthropology class actually over Conservation Genetics, but if the other is offered I gotta take it...)
Side note: My dog has been choking/coughing all lost night. He better not do it again, or I will be angry. -- and worried that it could be something bad. I was thinking kennel cough, but he hasn't been to a kennel or groomer... Only Petco yesterday afternoon, and the coughing started slightly prior. Or my mom goes, "My dog started doing this and it turned out she had a tumor on her espophagus," Well thanks mom.

Bodily Functions
I'm sorry, but my biggest pet peeve (besides the pgrase pet peeve) is people sneezing.
I absolutely hate it.
I think its the most annoying thing in the world.
Once I was trying to ask my mom how I looked in this dress I was going out in and all she did was sneeze at me. No words came out, just sneezes. So I stormed off because I thought she just didn't want to answer my questions.
Today she was in walmart, and was coughing while I was looking at notebooks. Then, she stopped coughing, and went to sneezing. I was so aggrivated.
So long story short - I sound like a bitch for hating peoples natural functions, but seriously there is nothing more annoying than that.

Superhero vs. Average
So you know how Clark Kent wore the glasses to hide his identity, yet we all knew he was obviously Superman?
I use my glasses the same way, I hope the response is the opposite.

First of the Garden!

Summer 2008, I stumbled upon a lonely plant lost on my college campus. I took it under my wing and brought it home. It grew, and grew, I was convinced it was a tree, lost as to what else it could be. I had never ventured into gardening, other than taking plants that I bought at the store, and planting them in the ground, but that had a name tag on it.
Anyway, I decided to name it Edward because I figured it was a tree, and would live forever, much like Edward Cullen. Anyway, I realized it then had a vegetable smell to it, and we concluded that it was actually a tomato plant. I didn't really know much to growing a tomato plant, but I transplanted it into a large pot on my porch. My mom urged me to bring it when it would rain, or storm. It finally stopped growing taller, but still now flowers. Until one day, in September, it bloomed a flower into a tomato. One lone tomato from my Edward tomato plant. It was delicious, however.
A couple months later, in the cold of winter, my mom found "Tomato Seed" packets in the dollar store. She figured that in the spring, I can start another tomato plant, or several. So I did. I bought a long window box and planted 8 tomatoes in them. Once they got to a bigger size, I transplanted them outside in the ground, with manure - Gross. But they really got a boost from it and I was probably one of the few people who had tomatos that year.
Incase you had failed to know, summer 2009 was the summer of the tomato blight. It traveled through the air and was a fungus that attacked tomato plants. The farm I worked at fell victim to this blight as well and lost mostly all of their tomato crop. But not me, I had heaping quarts of tomatos each week. I couldn't eat them as fast as they were growing. Also by the way I ended up adding about 4 more plants to my garden because I had grew some extra for my aunt and kept some of the ones she didn't want.
This year, I started the seeds again, but was away at college, trusting that my mom would be able to care for them. However, they all died at just the seedling stage.
Broken hearted, I resulted to getting some lone plants left at my job. They were tomatos, but didn't have a tag in them so I was excited to take a risk on what kind they were, such as cherry tomatos (like the ones I was trying to grow), big boy's (like a normal tomato - but there are about a dozen different types of 'regular looking tomatos'), sun golds (yellow, non acid tomatos), or plum tomatos.
I planted them in my garden, and then used the dirt from the deceased tomatos, to plant an ivy plant for my nephew - that I took off my ivy plant and rerooted it, so he could have one too (Mine is named Peetey, and his we named Patrick). Although, weeks later I saw a little sprout, and then another, and another. Days passed and these sprouts grew. They were in fact, tomato seedlings! I checked the other plant that I had used the left over dirt in, and as it would appear, there were seedling sprouts in there too! So now, in addition to the 6 in my garden I now have at least 8 in pots on my deck.
6 of the 9 already have tomatos growing, which my nephew decided he'd pick one day, and try to eat, even though they were still green! The other 3 are very small, and may, if they last that long, get tomatos in mid september. I should replant the ones in the pot because they ended up taking over Patrick's area, in which he is now dead, and are all in one 6inch pot, which is not ideal for tomatos. One tomato plant should be in at least a 10 inch pot - however mine are doing great! (as pictured!) I did already pick 1 another day, but me and Norman ate it. There are a couple orange ones, that aren't quuiite ready to be picked. Probably tomorrow!
In addition to my tomato plants, I started zucchini this year. However, I dont see even the start of a zucchini. I have flowers already, but no zucchini. So if all else fails, I will have at least zucchini blossoms that I can fry - which I hear are pretty good, but not quite what I wanted.
Young Adult books = Inspiration
Finished reading Princess Diaries book 3/10 and I was smiling at the end. Because unlike the movie, she is completely nieve about Michael loving her until he finally tells her and they kiss! Well this is after she hides away in the bathroom thinking that he's making fun of her.
And also, that she is 14, and he is 17-18 years old. Ignoring the pedafile-ness of this, as would be my thought if this were real. Well okay at 14 and a freshman in high school I was completely in love with a Senior and would of course thought it was normal for us to date -WHICH never happened but I heard from my friend that the other day she saw this crush of mine on the train, and I still would instantly marry him. Or at least date him, or well no, at LEAST have a conversation with.
Anyway, but when I was a senior and a boy was dating a freshman, I felt it was gross.
But whatever, Meg Cabot, I support this.
As well as I support a girl falling in love with a ghost (which she also wrote about.) He was a hot Gold Rush ghost named Jesse, though I think his real name was like Jose or something spanish at least. Probably not Jose - I should look it up... Okay no it's Hector De Silva.
I also just forgot that I was in the process of making soup, so now I have just noodles and a little bit of flavored water (with a vegetable bouillon). I am actually banned from making soup, preferrably tomato soup. Whenever I make tomato soup, I always make it boil over, by mistake. This results in a huge mess that, honestly, I never clean up. It just gets everywhere! A college-aged girl does not have that much experience to clean up that size mess. I result now to making tomato soup in the microwave to limit spillage, however when there aren't any clean big enough microwavable bowls, I ask my mom to make it for me.
Sure this is childish, "Mom make me some soup" but really she doesn't mind because she knows if she doesn't she will have to clean up a larger mess.

Facing the enemy.
Today I had my sisters boyfriend ask me why I became a vegetarian.
I told him it was because I don't believe in taking a life of another living being.
He asked: Do you ever miss meat?
I replied: It has almost been 10 years and I don't at all miss meat. I may miss cheese pizza after going vegan (2 yrs ago) but then I realize that I dont acutally need it.
He then proceeded: I don't think that seafood should be in that category.
I then proceeded to tell him about the blue fin tuna. That it is almost extinct and that the Us is only allowd a certain number, but that fishermen are tempted to sell it to japan, as it is the prime ingredient in Sushi, for 3x the amount, even though it is illegal to trade with Japan blue fish tuna. While out for fishing, blue fin, or other fish alike, they end up catching by catch of sea turtles and dolphin which are already endangered, and while they are not responsible for this by catch (such as they cant be HELD responsible) the animals are still dead and thus the species is stressed more to reproduce, in order to sustain their species. However if this species is extinct, or close to, their predators must find an alternative source of food which puts stress on the other species that already eats that prey.
With the extinction of any species puts stresss on its surrounding species, those who prey on that species and those who get preyed ON, by that species.
He told me that he has never heard of that, and that what I had to say was really eye opening. It was nice to know that he listened, whether or not that he has taken anything away from it.
I then proceeded to tell him how the Alaskan Salmon was a better alternative, however any farmed fish, such as this or any other, is not a better alternative because it was filled with pesticides from the people controlling the aquaculture to what the salmon/fish was used to. I told him, "If you don't care about eating pesticides or chemicals, then it is a safe option because it is sustainable."

She did it.
Diana convinced me to start a blog. I mean, I had a blog but then it went from "blogging" to it just being a pathetic journal about boys.
And while I know she would love it, I am ashamed as to what it has come to.
After reading her blog, I want to write stuff profound and thoughtful, rather than to just "I totally love ______" and such.
As with this, I realize, I never finish what I start. Such as a project or a boring book, even though I want to finish it.
Or even as I read through a troubleshooting email for my new computer that is acting up. After an hour running a diagnostic test, I consult the email again, to tell of my results, except I then realize that I, in fact, did the wrong diagnostic and this one should only take 2 minutes...
So off I go into the world of computers again, ugh!
